Super Senior – Boise Idaho Photographer

Okay so he’s not really a super senior but he’s super and he’s a senior. I had soooo much fun photographing Brandon. He is energetic and was willing to do anything I asked him to do. He plays for the Vallivue marching band so I made him play a little while I photographed him.

.

Brandon is a Vallivue Senior and the future has SO much in store for him. I can’t wait to see what he accomplishes.

.

Here are a few of my favorite shots from his session.

Updates! Boise Photographer

Hey everyone! Sorry for my absence. Though it’s technically the season that I’m shooting less, I’m still keeping myself busy. Lots of brides and weddings happening this summer! If you’re hoping to get in, definitely get ahold of me now, as I only book 2 weddings per month and I’m getting close to that!

.

What else is new? I’m excited to be attending WPPI in a week. It is a big photography conference that takes place in Vegas. I’ve never been able to attend because it has clashed with my class schedule. Now that I’m done with school I’m able to go! I’m so excited to bring back lots of new ideas to share with you guys in your sessions this year.

.

Okay enough jabber – here’s what I’ve been working on since I blogged last!

Adorable couple expecting a sweet baby girl in a couple weeks!

Babies being born!! I photographed two this week.

And some fun shooting for me. These first couple shots are from a stylized shoot a few local photographers put together for fun.  It was an amazing day so why waste it??

.

A couple days ago my amazingly talented photographer friend Annie Brown-Garner with Let it Shine Photography came over and we played with light. She was my model and I was hers. Great day to practice some fun studio lighting. She’s absolutely gorgeous!

Before and After – Boise Photographer

A before and after post is due! I haven’t done one in a while.

.

I like to show the difference between an edited and non-edited image. I pride myself in not doing any crazy editing but more of just enhancing the photo.

.

So these next two shots, for instance. The first shot looks great, but I wanted to lighten it up a little bit. I just used the curves setting in photoshop to lighten it up a bit, smoothed out her skin just a tiny bit using a Photoshop mask action I purchased from MCP Actions. You can create your own action to smooth out skin but I thought it was cheaper and easier to purchase my own.

.

The next shot was exposed the way I liked, but was too “cool” for my taste. I may have BARELY adjusted the curves but almost unnoticeably so. I wanted to make it look much warmer. I attempted to fix it during the shoot by changing my white balance but because it was during sunset in the middle of January I didn’t have much of an option. So that is where photoshop comes in handy. To neutralize the magenta I used the color balance tool in photoshop and slid it over to the green side. That will help fade out some of the magenta look. Then, I used TRA’s Warm it Up Chris at 50% opacity to really make the yellow/orange pop. Afterwards I used the same skin smoothing action I mentioned above to smooth out a few blemishes. And that’s it!

Feel free to send me any questions!

Bright Summer Day – Boise Senior Portrait Photographer

More fall portrait sessions!

This one is a little special because it’s my sister who is graduating high school Spring 2011. Her and her friend decided to have their senior portraits shot together – which was a first for me but a lot of fun.

Here are my favorites from Stefani’s (my sister’s friend):

And now a couple of of my favorites from my sister’s shots:

A fun one with them together!

FFA Girl – Parma Idaho Senior Portrait Photographer

This fall was totally swamped and I got away from blogging more than one photo per post. Now that I’m finally catching up I’m going to be showing you sessions from the last couple months.

This one is from the end of September and it was unusually hot! You would never be able to tell from looking at this senior’s photos though. She is absolutely beautiful.
