Double the Trouble – Boise Child Photographer

I was a slacker last week and didn’t post much. :)

Yesterday I woke up to the sun shining in my window! I had a family session with two sweet one-year-olds and I really needed warm weather. I loaded all my stuff up and was happy with the temp. I headed down to my location only for the sun to hide behind the clouds and the wind to pick up a bit. We were determined to pretend the weather was nice! Though we got most of what we wanted, we will be going for a round two to grab a couple more shots!

Mini-Session FAQs

What is the difference between a mini-session and a full session?

Regular photo sessions are 1-2 hours at multiple locations and outfit changes. You have a selection of 30+ photos and usually have a print credit.

A mini-session is a smaller version of that, but a substantial difference in price. There is only one outdoor location, one outfit, and a limited time period for shooting.

Why do a mini-session?
This is a great opportunity to experience custom photography at a lower price. Sometimes around the holidays families do not need a large photo session, but something to mark the occasion.

What if it rains or the weather is bad on the day of our mini session?
In case of poor weather, mini photo sessions will be rescheduled as early as possible. Keep in mind that there will be several others who will be in the same boat as you.

Reason #857 Why Boise is Awesome – Boise Photographer

A little bit of a random post but my experience was so refreshing I had to share.

As I mentioned in the last post I had recently traveled outside of the US. To give you a quick summary, It was a backpacking trip with my husband. We flew into Amsterdam backpacked into Belgium and then Paris where we flew out. It was a wonderful trip but I’m happy to be back. Paris was basically like the European version of New York City – very fast-paced.

Now back to why Boise is super awesome. Yesterday I was walking down the street to meet a friend for coffee. As I was walking, I took a deep breath and realized how nice it was to be home. Boise is so clean and spacious. Not only that, but everyone is so friendly. Following my little moment I sent this tweet.

As that tweet was sending I stopped at the crosswalk where a lady (probably in her 40′s) was standing next to me in her business suit. She looked over at me and asked how my day was. Seconds after that someone yelled at her and waved out of their vehicle. They exchanged a quick conversation and he drove off. She looked at me and said, “that was my doctor”.

We proceeded to cross the street where she asked me if I was heading off to work. I told her that I was actually headed to coffee where I was meeting a friend. She told me about this great coffee shop that she always likes to hang out by herself or while meeting clients. We finished our conversation and as we were both walking away she hollered, “enjoy the rest of your day!”

I love that. That is not a rare thing to happen here. It happens all the time. My Europe trip was just long enough to make me forget. I don’t think it’s exactly Europe but big cities in general. My experiences in big cities made me conclude that people have things to do and places to be so they mind their own business.

When I first started my trip over to the coffee shop I was in my “minding my own business” mode and completely ignoring people around me. My encounter with the woman made me realize that I didn’t have to be in that mode anymore.

Do you ever have moments like that?

AND because a post is not a post without a picture….

This is a photo I took while visiting the Louvre Museum in Paris. It is from the apartments of Napoleon III. The decorations and furnature was absolutely amazing. This room in particular really struck me.  You can read more about it HERE.

Tilt Shift Lens in Belgium – Boise Idaho Photographer

So I was out of the country for the last week. I’ll have lots of fun photos to share. Right now I’m just downloading and saving. I came across this one and wanted to share.

I took a tilt shift lens with me to try out some new stuff. I’d never used one before so I thought it was the perfect opportunity. Of the gazillion tilt shift photos I took, this is one of the VERY FEW that actually turned out the way I wanted. Most of them just look awful.
