First Look, a Bride’s Story – Boise Idaho Wedding Photographer

I’m a huge advocate for the first look. I’m soooooo sad I didn’t do one with my husband. If I could turn back time I’d do a first look.

Anyway, 90% of my brides opt for the first look and I think it’s a great way to have that special moment with their grooms.

I’d asked Amy to give me her experience from the first look.

———-

I loved the first look because it was such a special moment, different then I expected and it was just us – so I wasn’t nervous because all the guests were staring at me, it was just that anticipation type of nerves, adrenaline almost.  It was just him and me.  And Joe could react however he wanted to – he didn’t need to be stoically standing with our officiant.  The first look allowed us to really gather ourselves and actually made us less nervous about walking down the aisle and speaking in front of 200+ people.  Also, it made me feel so beautiful and special because Joe was able to say all the things he was thinking when he first saw me.  He told me how beautiful I looked over and over and we were able to just be stunned for a while.  I cried a little, which got it out of my system (kind of), and Joe held me because it was so cold outside (shout out to winter weddings!)  We comforted and complimented each other and got to take all our formal pictures before the actual wedding.  Now that you know Joe and my personalities a little better, we didn’t want to take pictures after the wedding, we wanted to get to the party as soon as we could!  This allowed so much more time to work the room and say hi to family and friends that we hadn’t talked to yet, thank everyone for coming, and just mingle.  I didn’t feel stressed, time-wise, and was actually able to relax and just have fun.  We think the guests really appreciated it too.  Everything at our wedding was perfect, including the first look!

Boudoir WrapUp – Boise Idaho Photographer

I couldn’t be happier with the way that the boudoir mini-sessions turned out.

It was the first time I’d rented a hotel room and set up a weekend event. How often do you get to hang out with cool chicks all weekend, AND get paid for it? I have the best job :)

As a random side note, Boise has some hot moms and wives!

PS. I think this will turn into an annual thing :)

Smarty Pants – Boise Senior Photographer

I photographed this young man this fall. He actually reminded me of what my husband would have been like in high school if I knew him then. He chose his words wisely and was very focused on his future. Come to find out, he’s planning on studying Rocket Science Engineering. I had fun getting to know him. He’s definitely got a bright future ahead!

I had too many favorites to be ready!

I Heart This Picture – Boise Photographer

I can’t remember if I posted this on the blog before, but this is a photo of my mom and I when I was a baby. I’m hoping to blow it up and hang it in my house.

Do you have a photo with one of your parents that you absolutely love?

Down by Safety Suit – Boise Photographer

These guys aren’t a super popular band but I dig them. I was editing the other night and this song came up on my shuffle. I hadn’t heard it in forever and it just seemed to one of those songs that makes you sit back and quit what you’re doing for a second just to listen.

I tried to find the actual music video but for now you’ll just have to do with the song without video.
