Snowy Sky – Boise Idaho Photographer

Since I haven’t lived outside of Idaho, I don’t know if this applies everywhere (I’m assuming it does). Right before it’s about to snow the sky lights up into a beautiful brownish/red haze of clouds. Not only is it red, but it’s also super bright even in the latest hours of the night.

My husband claims that it’s because the light is reflecting back and forth. I’m too lazy to look it up so I believe him. Here’s a straight out of the camera shot of a tree with berries on it and the backdrop of the hazy sky taken on Saturday night.

Happy Thanksgiving… a couple days late – Boise Idaho Photographer

I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday. It was really nice to take a break from work and enjoy some family time. I feel refreshed and ready to rock and roll.

Over the break I photographed a sweet girl on her birthday and I brought my camera to Boise’s annual Tree Lighting. It was the first time I had attended and it was fun.

We also got a ton of snow over the last week. We’re definitely not used to snow this early, but it was a fun treat (I know I am usually not one to admit this!).

So that’s a quick wrap up and I have some more photos to share. In the meantime, here is a shot of the little one-year-old from Friday and my favorite shot from the tree lighting on Saturday.

Questions – Boise Photographer

I’ve never put one of these on a blog. My friend Alecia filled one out and it was fun to read so I’ve decided to do my own.

LIVING
Where do you live: Boise, Idaho
Favorite art: Hmmm. This is a hard one for me. There isn’t anyone in particular I like, but I love buying local art when I travel.

Pets: Buddy our 5-year-old golden retriever.
Favorite neighborhood restaurant: Hmmm… too many to choose from (there are a few chains, but I won’t list those). Let’s see, Superb Sushi (which I haven’t been to in forever), The Brick Oven Bistro, Bombay Grill, Falcon Tavern, BitterCreek (seriously I could list forever but I’m going to stop. Okay one more..) TableRock Brew.
Favorite cocktail: Red wine fo sho.
Who inspires you: I’m inspired by energetic and good people. I love people who help and make a difference or people who came from nothing to be great. As cliche as it sounds it’s so true.
Necessary extravagance(s): Pedicures for sure, which by the way, I need one now.
Favorite place in the world: There are so many places left to visit, but I would say Italy was my favorite so far.

CLOTHES
Designer: Tulle, Banana Republic, Patagonia
Jeans: Seven For All Mankind
Underwear: Patagonia

Sneakers: I don’t really have a preference. If you’re talking running shoes, I always go into the running store and tell them to fit me. Seems each time it’s different.

Watch: I hardly wear a watch because I use my cell phone, but when I am wearing one it’s usually Fossil.

T-shirt: No pref as long as it doesn’t make look fat. Okay I said it.
Day bag: What ever is easiest. Usually I use the same bag for months.
Evening bag: Same as my day bag.
Favorite city to shop: This one is hard. Some of my best finds were in Las Vegas at their outlet mall but to be honest, I love to shop anywhere.

BEAUTY
Lipstick: Arbonne Gloss
Mascara: Arbonne
Shampoo: Matrix but I switch shampoos every other bottle so that my hair doesn’t get used to it.

Moisturizer: Arbonne

Perfume: Ocean Pacific. I found it a long time ago in high school while on a trip to the Oregon coast. I’ve tried different perfumes and nothing does it like this one. Sadly I think they’re discontinued so I won’t have it much longer. I might need suggestions!
Toothpaste: I don’t really have a preference, I like the whitening kind but my husband hates it. So I use whatever he gets.
Soap: Irish Spring
Nail-polish color: French Manicure
Who cuts your hair: Darla
Who colors your hair: Darla

And because no post is fun without a photo.

Mama Buddy – Boise Idaho Photographer

Before my niece came around, my dog never really had experience around kids. When she started hanging out I decided I wanted to get him used to being around little ones. It totally surprised me that he kinda turned into mama dog. Okay he’s a boy, but he acts very concerned when she’s upset or making noise. When we would put her down on our bed he would go and sleep in the room on the floor next to the bed.

Recently we had to pull out the pack and play because she’s becoming mobile. This girl could wiggle her way to China if we let her. She’s not quite crawling but she is rolling and squirming.

Buddy likes this new arrangement. Not only can he see her through the mesh, but if she’s awake and close he will give her a little lick. She absolutely loves it. It also helps keep her occupied a little longer.

GIF and Blooper Fun – Boise Idaho Photographer

Okay so I normally don’t share shots like this, but since these are my sisters I feel entitled :D

I had these guys stand there so I could adjust white balance, exposure… that sort of thing. Will sifting through the files I couldn’t help but laugh at this series.
