My Funky Camera – Boise Idaho Photographer

So all the products I post on here are just products that I’ve come across or think are cool. No one pays me to post them.

Okay so how cool are these? They’re camera neck straps!

Anyway… I found them from i heart faces because they’re doing a drawing. Crossing my fingers that I win. Otherwise I’ll probably buy one this year. And of course, I’ll have to get one for each camera.

New Wedding Pricing for 2010 – Boise Idaho Wedding Photographer

Photo from my wedding taken by Northend Photography.

This last year I did a lot of business planning and changing. I re-evaulated my wedding packages and pricing, started blogging and changed my website. After talking with a couple brides these last few months I’ve discovered that my wedding packages did not have what they needed – namely a high resolution disk of photos. In previous years that wasn’t as big of a priority with brides, but now it is. So, with that new information I’ve decided to change my wedding pricing again.

Now you can build your own prices based on my base rate. From there you can add as much or as little as you want. You can check it out on my site if you want. tk-foto.com

Randoms of the Week – Boise Idaho Photographer

Monday was nothing interesting at all. The gym sent out some magical force to keep me away. I’m serious. I was too busy working to get out, when I finally did I was stuck in traffic and then the parking lot was full. So I left, ate dinner, and got my hair done. Nothing too exciting.

Tuesday I realized that iPhone + Treadmill = Flying Object. Here I was trotting right along when *BAM* iPhone/iPod goes down and flying. Though my baby was okay, I still had to stop, turn off the treadmill and retrieve her.

Wednesday I went to see one of my favorite artists in concert. Brandi Carlile. She is always amazing in concert. Even if her type of music isn’t your forte, she’s so fun to watch.

Thursday I finally had an epiphany. For the last few weeks I’ve been thinking of a fun little tune to play in the background of my website. I know, I know… music can be a drag on websites.

My thinking is that my target market is looking for photos for a certain reason. Most likely that certain reason is something that they’re emotionally attached to (ie babies, weddings, family).  Listening to music while browsing photos really sets the mood and I want my potential clients to get a feel for the photo sessions. So long story short, I added music to my site by Katie Herzig.

Katie Herzig was the opening band for the concert on Wednesday. It was exactly what I was looking for.

Check it out HERE. The galleries have different music then the main areas. Each gallery has a specific song.

Friday I was in the best mood I’ve been in all week. Felt nice.

Family & Maternity! The Johnston Family – Boise Idaho Maternity & Family Photographer

Meet the Johnstons. They’re expecting baby #2 in March and they don’t know the sex. It’s fun to meet people who decide to keep it a secret. They did it with their daughter and they intend on going till the end.

Since it’s still pretty cold in January we did photos in their house. It had the perfect decor for indoor photos so I was excited. LOTS of windows for natural light. I’m also doing newborn photos when baby arrives so I’ve already planned where we will be doing more photos.

I had so many favorites that it was hard to narrow it down. Here they are:

She is going to be a big sister.

Big sister is 16 months old and already can sign so many words. Mom’s sister is hearing impaired so it was important to her that her kids knew how to sign as well. Big sister is showing us the letter R.

Uh oh, mom and dad are in trouble! Hopefully they have unlimited texting.

There were SOOO many in this series that were awesome so I decided to show you two.

Only a couple more months before the little one arrives!

Cutest Sports Bra Ever!

Okay so I am an Etsy addict and I can admit it. I have no plans on going into recovery. While browsing through random products, I found this:

Isn’t it the cutest sports bra? I didn’t buy it but definitely considered it. You can find it HERE for around $59. PS. I would like this girl’s abs.

Buddy is a Movie Star – Boise Idaho Photographer

While going through my cell phone photos for the contest on my last post I came across a funny photo that I almost entered.

This is Buddy watching himself on tv.

Some back story on this photo…

While we were still letting the dogs hang out in the house for the day, we came home one day to our pillows in our bedroom completely demolished. Lots of guilty faces, but none speaking up.

(Yes those are pants that were drug over here)

So the next day we decided to set up the video camera and see how the next day would turn out. Fortunately the only damage that occurred the next day was the frolicking and playing on our bed ALL DAY. That is exactly what he’s doing on tv in the photo.

Needless to say they no longer were aloud to stay in our room while we were gone.

Do you have any funny stories like that?

Don't Touch that SLR! – Boise Idaho Photographer

Two Photographers have put up a contest challenging photographers to get great photos using anything  BUT an SLR.

You can find the contest HERE.

Since I take lots of photos using my iPhone I decided to use those to submit. It was a hard choice because I have tons of fun photos but I narrowed it down to my favorites.

Here are my entries:

This was taken in South Dakota while visiting my dad. It is this mini donkey thing. They were very domesticated and SUPER cute.

This is the view from a place we stopped for lunch in Santorini, Greece on our honeymoon. It was unreal.

Again on our honeymoon in an alley in Marseille France. I love grunge and this was my first taste of it in Europe.
