Sneak Peek: Hot Mom Contest Winner 2009

A few months ago, I partnered up with Mix 160 Radio for the Annual Hot Mom Contest. We finally shot the session yesterday and I was so excited about some of the shots that I had to share a couple with you. Don’t worry, I’ll have another post with more photos.

Here are some fun photos of the whole family. These are basically my favorites out of all. Yeah I can’t keep surprises and I have to give the fun ones away.

After some fun in the water!

More Adventures in South Dakota – Boise Idaho Lifestyle Photographer

As most of you could tell from my falling off the blog wagon and last week’s re-appearance. I’m finally catching up. Late June I travelled to South Dakota to visit my dad. I posted a couple mobile photos from when I was there, but not much of anything else.

Here are some fun photos I took at a place called “1880 Town“. It’s bascially a place where they took old buildings and put them in one little area a town that would have existed in 1880. Normally I wouldn’t have been a fan of something like that but it was pretty neat.

The Orcutt Family – Boise Idaho Lifestyle Photographer

Last week was one of the first few weeks that we’ve had the temperature up in the triple digits. Naturally, I was a little worried that on Monday the photo session scheduled was going to be pretty warm. We found some shade and it was not bad at all!

Meet the Orcutt Family. I met Marc a couple semesters ago in college. We took a Business Management class on a Saturday morning. Yes, I repeat, Saturday morning. The perk to the class was that it only lasted 2 months, but we had to suffer a brutal 6 hours.

During this time, Marc and I became good friends. In the Fall, he asked me to shoot some photos of him and his wife since they didn’t get many photos when they were married.

Long story short, little Derek was born. Here are some photos from their session.

I love baby yawns. They’re my absolute favorite.

This little guy was reluctant to give me a smile when I was geared up for it. Here I was able to capture a little one.

This made us giggle, his little harm is in dad’s pocket.

Outdoor Retailer – Boise Idaho Lifestyle Photographer

This week I’ve been at Outdoor Retailer in Salt Lake City, Utah. It’s a fun event where outdoor companies will come in and take a look at new outdoor products for 2010. Yes, catalog companies have to look at product a whole year in advanced in order for you to have the fun and trendy clothing and gear for the following summer.

I’ll try to grab some shots and show you how huge this event  is (via cell phone of course). Last year we got to watch a Rusted Root concert hosted by Outdoor Retailer. It was awesome.

Alright, here’s the 3rd and final post with photos from the Carlson Wedding Extravaganza. Fun reception photos.

This wedding was a blast. It was fun to be part of the wedding instead of photographing the wedding this time. You tend to forget what it’s like being on the other side of the camera for once. It’s nice!

Carlson Wedding Ceremony – Boise Idaho Lifestyle Photographer

I will be posting one more blog with reception photos. Here are some ceremony photos in the beautiful St John’s Cathedral in Boise.

It is absolutely amazing inside this church. Since I’ve lived in Boise I’ve always wanted to come inside.

Week of the Carlson Wedding – Boise Idaho Lifestyle Photographer

I’ve been a little behind on my blogging lately. With my own wedding coming up, it leaves little time for fun stuff :) .

In the meantime, you get to see photos from the wedding that I was recently a bridesmaid in. It’s fun to be a bridesmaid before your own wedding. I got a sneak peek to what I have to look forward to in September. You might remember THIS POST.

The next couple posts will be from Heather and Vince’s Wedding in June. I’m a little behind but we finally got all the photos back from Northend Photography. They did a wonderful job.

Here are some pre-funk photos from the wedding day.

A little rain didn’t hurt. The wedding was indoors anyway. This was pre-hair dos.

And when I said we were dodging the rain, we really were dodging the rain. These are some guests rushing into the church.

Pictures from the ceremony to follow soon, and reception ones after that. Yes I’m going to stretch this out through a couple posts, that way you don’t get bored :)

Wedding Decorations – Boise Idaho Lifestyle Photographer

Since I’ve been blogging, I haven’t really started talking much about my own wedding. You’ll probably be hearing more details about it as it approaches sooner. For now, I am excited to show these two pots. I have been looking for something like this to help with decor at our wedding site. I don’t want to use many flowers, so I was looking for alternative ways to decorate.

I found these two pots (they’re about 2.5 feet tall) at TJ Max for $18.00 each. I’ve looked everywhere else and haven’t found anything close for less than $50.00.

Our colors are a sage green and a chocolate brown. I thought these were perfect the  moment I saw them. I plan to put dried leaves, sticks and fun little decorations like that inside them.

The awesome thing about it is I can put them in my house after the wedding.

Aren’t they adorable?
